a beautiful backyard bash

I feel so incredibly blessed that my first wedding of 2021 was Josh & Sunnie's! These are two of the coolest, kindest, most amazing people I know. Although they faced many challenges in their wedding planning journey (thanks COVID), they did not let it discourage them and I'm glad I got to be there to photograph their beautiful celebration of love.

The two lovebirds said "I do" in the backyard of Sunnie's childhood home (which happens to be the very same backyard where Josh proposed just a year earlier!) beneath the cover of a romantic string-lit tent & with their closest friends and family in attendance. Sunnie's grandma was the flower girl and their youth pastor was the officiant. The couple shared a private moment of communion and prayer during the ceremony before being pronounced Mr. & Mrs. McSherry. One of my very favorite moments of the day was during family photos when Sunnie chased down the mail truck to say hello to her neighborhood post woman who has had the same route since Sunnie was a kid!

Loved ones partied the night away while enjoying good music, warm pretzel appetizers from Wetzel's Pretzels, and beautiful personal-sized handmade fruit pies to take home. All the little details and personal touches made this wedding so much more intimate and meaningful; it was a perfect celebration of the love Sunnie & Josh have not only for one another, but also for God, friends, and family.

Sunnie's sister Rylee said it best: "there are things that are worth fighting for and this wedding day was one of them."
